About Programming Toolkit
ProgrammingToolkit.com contains references to books, articles, and websites that I (and those around me) use constantly in the practice of programming. These are the things that have helped us to be better programmers, and to which we still turn when we need information and guidance.

ProgrammingToolkit.com also collects lessons I have learned, sometimes through painful experience, in the course of learning to be a better programmer. Some of these lessons will be obvious to you; almost all have been obvious to me in hindsight.

A toolkit is not a giant hardware store. It contains the things that we use most frequently and cannot be without when we do a job. Please don't post complaints that you cannot find information here about your favorite obscure programming topic. (By the same token, if you think that I am missing something of general utility, please let me know.)

Site traffic (since June 2002):
  • 5367 distinct users
  • 5528 sessions
  • 6809 page views
Note: The user and session counts rely on persistent and session cookies, respectively, and will be inflated by those with cookies disabled.

ProgrammingToolkit.com was written in Tcl using TextPad and vi, and is running on Linux. The database is MySQL.
